My photography is influenced, sometimes positively, by the routine of my work days. Around 8 am I take the F train from Brooklyn to midtown, and walk along 47th from 6th Avenue to just off Madison. In the evening, exactly the same in reverse.

Because of this forced rigidity - same times, same stations, the same blocks on the same side of the same sidewalk - I try to find and shoot the small differences in the light, shapes and people that I see. The locales (and sometimes people) deliberately and obviously repeat so I'm forced to seek the visual differences within the routine.

There's two groupings - shots taken within seconds of each other as I try to capture the rapid changes in light caused by the commuting masses moving quickly, and then there's those of the same people and places in my small world taken as the days and seasons move along.

Shown in order of the time of day they were shot. Thanks for viewing. There's more at @johnny_wilkens if you're interested.
